Family day care is an approved form of  early childhood education and care delivered by an educator in a home-based environment. Children are cared for in smaller groups while participating in everyday routines, play and educational experiences. Educators operate as part of an approved family day care service and must meet applicable National Quality Framework requirements. The family day care model combines consistent care with opportunities for early learning in smaller groups. First Idea operates under the National Quality Framework and supports educators in providing individualised learning experiences that recognise children’s interests, needs and stages of development.

All three ranked centres are approved for the Child  Care Subsidy, which covers up to 90% of fees depending on family income and activity. The rates shown may reflect different age bands at different centres, so confirm the rate for your child's age directly with each centre. The current approval holder took the service over in September 2021, two years before that assessment, so the result describes the operation  a family would be enrolling into today.

Parents should discuss routines, sleep, feeding, communication, activities and other individual requirements when comparing potential care arrangements. Under the National Quality Framework ratio requirements, a family day care educator may generally care for a maximum of seven children at one time, with no more than four children preschool age or under. The calculation can also include an educator’s own children under 13 in certain circumstances. Although education and care take place in an educator’s home environment, the educator operates as part of an approved family day care service rather than independently.
The ratings for Goodstart Early Learning Narre Warren South – Sherwood Road were issued as of November 2023. The ratings for Happy Kidz Child Care & Early Learning Centre were issued as of July 2022. Our dedicated Family Support Team can find the right local centre near you. Programs follow the Early Years Learning Framework, with music and movement for children up to three, a sports program for three to five, and three- and four-year-old kindergarten designed by qualified teachers. The fee is $171.90 a day at every age, with eight inclusions listed on the register.
