They want to learn and explore, which is why we teach through play-based learning. It supports language, motor skills, memory, emotions and social relationships. Educators plan play-based learning experiences based on children’s interests and goals. As a leader, I focus on empathy, transparency, and continuous improvement to ensure families feel heard, children feel safe, and educators are supported to grow. As a proud mum of six and “Nanny” to ten grandchildren, I understand the trust families place in us and the importance of positive early learning experiences.
I began working in early childhood education in 1999 and joined Great Beginnings Pakenham in 2014. I bring many years of experience across a range of leadership roles within early learning. Since joining Great Beginnings Pakenham, I have worked as a Lead Educator, Educational Leader, Assistant Centre Manager, and now Centre Manager. Each role has given me the opportunity to develop new skills, explore different areas of the sector, and deepen my passion for ensuring children receive the best possible start to their education journey. One of the most rewarding parts of my role is seeing the growth and development of not only the children, but also the families and educators, over time.
Children may attend the services provided they will be three or four years of age for the relevant service, as of 30 April in the year of their attendance. From day one, the warmth and professionalism of the team have made such a difference in our lives. What truly sets this place apart is the incredible leadership of the Centre Manager. My daughter is always enjoying her days with different kinds of fun activities at Aspire Huntly Village.
Notably, Pakenham has an unusually high concentration of Exceeding NQS-rated services, with a notable proportion of centres holding an Exceeding NQS rating. The team at Great Beginnings Pakenham go above and beyond for each family member. Each team member always puts the children’s needs first, embracing their individuality and providing quality care for all.
Through shared conversations and investigation, children develop curiosity, problem-solving and critical thinking skills. No matter what age and ability your child is when they take their first steps into our Childcare Centre Pakenham, we ensure that every child and family feels welcome, safe and secure. We ensure families start their day right with fresh treats and a coffee station in our foyer.
The program supports early scientific understanding while fostering confidence, independence, and a love of learning through exploration. Children develop a strong sense of identity as they feel safe, secure and supported, building confidence, resilience and a positive sense of self. Through group activities, conversations and play, children learn to interact with others with care, empathy and respect, building positive relationships and friendships. Our program builds life skills through daily routines that promote problem-solving, communication, independence, and teamwork.
This allows us to share daily digital updates, photos, and learning stories, along with details about meals, rest times, and milestones. Families also receive face-to-face updates, ensuring strong communication and partnership. For children with additional needs or behaviours of concern, we collaborate with inclusion support professionals, allied health teams, and our Kindergarten Improvement Advisor.

I’m passionate about giving kids the best start in life, and I find it incredibly rewarding to watch them grow and learn during such vital years. Building trust with families and creating a safe, nurturing environment is at the heart of everything I do. I have worked in the Early Childhood Education and Care sector for over ten years. During this time, I’ve had the privilege of working across a wide range of roles—including Educator, Kindergarten Teacher, Educational Leader, Assistant Director, and now Centre Director. Each of these roles has shaped my professional journey and deepened my commitment to delivering high-quality care and education for all children. Our families love hearing about their child’s progress and the experiences they’re having day to day.
