Even though the Northern Lite Campers are the lightest of the Truck Campers on the market there are no vehicles ready made in Australia to suit. The option has been to convert a Ford Ranger/Mazda BT50 or Nissan Navara or similar to a six wheeler by adding a lazy axle . While these work well they still do not have a massive payload. This essential guide is here to fill in the gaps – these are the slide-on-campers available that we would happily sell our houses for. Other options include the Fuso Canter, Isuzu NPS and Iveco Daily 4WD which can all readily carry the load but they are big and not to everyone's liking. The 4WD ability with the lazy axle will not suit those who want to do the 'extreme 4WD thing' in the mud and vertical rock climbing, but it has never stopped me from going to places I wanted to go.
The stainless steel Oven Wire insert replaces the grill plate to transform the barbecue so that it will operate more effectively as an oven. The internal, three burner cook top has one burner large enough to cater for a large frypan, while still allowing plenty of room for a saucepan and kettle on the other two burners.
