I remember it as a ugly one, but this year it made a good impression. Take your kinds there and tell them stories about old times and made them think about how it all changes in comparison with nowadays. It’s good to stop if you are around, very easy to reach just on the road and it’s something unusual to see. This ancient city is still being excavated today, and some say it will take another 10 years to complete.

The area of the former fortress is large and rich in ruins, there are panels to explain their meaning. The view on the city is nice, even if the city has been brutally urbanised and industrialised in communist times. Access is complex and the paths and stairs are ‘rustic’ and a bit overgrown, but accessible for someone who is fit. You can approach from the old town area on a more gentle gradient over cobbled streets. The site is very old and I could not find any interpretation of maps on site. Vies are spectacular and in the early morning it’s a great place for contemplation. Fantastic place to explore or to climb and watch the sunsetting over the mountains.

The carriage doors are locked, from the outside, by the staff just before departure. There is no way for the passengers to open the door from the inside in an emergency. The route is short, with scenery that is not attractive; just scrub and some trees. Nothing inspiring, no great views en-route. After a short while you reach the poorly named ‘Panorama Station’, where you are told by the staff that you have a 5 minute break before returning to the train’s start point. The publicity material stated that from this station the passengers can “…enjoy the breathtaking view on the hill”.

It’s the only museum in the world devoted to humor. Something i found interesting is that the Museum is on the foundations of an old leather factory. Loved the Mirror room and how interactive it is.
